WTS is a 35-year old firm headquartered in Rockville, MD, that specializes in planning, design and management of tennis clubs, health clubs, spas for both profit and not-for-profit clients throughout the U.S. and overseas. WTS employs more than 2,500 employees and operate 125 tennis clubs and sports facilities. WTS has designed, promoted, and operated numerous multi-use recreation, racquet sports, and athletic facilities. The company has experience in all aspects of tennis and athletic facility planning, design, pre-opening, and management. WTS designs facilities for their own clients as well as consult with architecture and interior design firms to assist them. The firm’s services include the preparation and launch of tennis and athletic facilities, including selection and training of staff, budget development, standard operating procedures, program menu creation, marketing and operational plans and systems.
WTS’s experience spans concept development and design to pre-opening to daily operations and management for public-private partnerships and parks and recreation departments. The firm’s services include personnel selection and training, a wide array of tennis and recreational programs, retail and pro shop management, facility maintenance, and all other services associated with the opening and day-to-day facilities operation.
WTS clients have included community association groups, universities, community centers, and local governments, such as Schaumburg, IL, where the firm operates a large indoor/outdoor racquet sports complex.
Ronald Schimel, Miles & Stockbridge P.C.
Ronald Schimel, a resident of Columbia, MD, is a principal of Miles and Stockbridge. He is chairman of the firm’s Real Estate Development practice group, representing a range of clients from individuals, to wholly-owned entities, to national and international publicly traded corporations. Mr. Schimel has represented numerous business entities, assisting them with corporate financings, private offerings, and securities compliance. He has represented clients in the acquisition, financing, and disposition of properties. A substantial part of Mr. Schimel’s practice is devoted to representing property owners in the development of land in Howard County. He has represented clients in both the public and private sectors. Howard County Economic Development Authority. Mr. Schimel earned his J.D. from the Columbus School of Law, Catholic University of America, and was recently selected by Baltimore Magazine as a “Maryland Super Lawyer.”

Brailsford & Dunlavey, Inc.
Brailsford & Dunlavey, Inc., was first established in 1993 as Brailsford Associates, Inc., to provide integrated economic and architectural planning services and program management in the development of sports and recreation facilities. In 1996, the firm's name was changed to Brailsford & Dunlavey. At its outset, the practice consisted of only three consultants serving five clients, focusing on pre-development feasibility studies and project management services. As the company grew, its areas of specialization grew to include student housing, faculty/staff housing, campus recreation and athletics, student unions, faculty clubs, campus edge developments, ballparks, stadiums, arenas, community recreation facilities, and convocation and convention centers. In recent years, the firm has been solicited increasingly to assume program management responsibilities for projects nationwide. Today, having completed more than 500 assignments, B&D employs more than 40 professionals and has managed or consulted on recreation centers, campus centers, professional sports facilities, student housing, and other "quality of life" facilities worth over $10 billion dollars in completed construction value.
Gaudreau, Inc.
Since its founding in 1927, Gaudreau, Inc., has completed nearly $4 billion of architectural, planning, and engineering projects. They are one of the most respected architectural firms in the region and have developed expertise in LEED design. Gaudreau’s project experience is broad-based and ranges from research, manufacturing, educational, health care, and religious facilities to buildings for government and industry and recreational facilities. The Gaudreau staff of professionals operates on a team system, providing a design process for each project individualized to meet the special needs of its clients. Gaudreau has designed numerous sports facilities over the years, including indoor and outdoor tennis facilities. The firm is very familiar with working in and with Howard County, where they have built a number of recent projects, including the new Howard County YMCA. The principals at Gaudreau designated to work on Troy Park are avid tennis players who play on local USTA teams. The HCTP board is excited about the design concept Gaudreau has developed to-date for the Troy Park Tennis Center. (Please see the details that were provided in Section 2.)
Site Resources, Inc.
HCTP has engaged Site Resources, Inc., (SRI) to provide a range of civil engineering, land planning, site design, and landscape architectural services for the proposed Troy Park Tennis Center. (See the preliminary site analysis provided in Appendix D). SRI has extensive experience providing comprehensive civil/site services to public and private clients throughout the mid-Atlantic region. The firm combines expertise in landscape architecture and civil engineering, using an interdisciplinary approach to land development that ensures responsibly engineered solutions that are sensitive to design issues. SRI has a reputation for developing innovative solutions to difficult land development challenges. Throughout the design and construction process, they assist clients in prioritizing issues and making informed decisions regarding program, constructability, and costs. SRI has several active projects in the Howard County review and development process, and they are familiar with the personnel, policies, and procedures for land development in the County. Just a few of SRI’s Howard County projects in the last 5 years have included: the Howard County Public Safety Center; Chapelgate Christian Academy Athletic Fields in Marriotsville, Howard County; Turf Valley in Howard County; Park View at Emerson in Columbia; Park View at Ellicott City; and the West Friendship Volunteer Fire Department. SRI has specific experience with tennis and other athletic facilities, having provided site consulting services for the Tennis Center at Five Farms in Lutherville, MD, and land planning and site analysis services for the Patterson Mill Middle/High School and Athletic Complex in Bel Air, MD.
